Milan, Michigan

Age 39, died on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at her home in Milan. She was born on June 14, 1982, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Michael and Christine (Layton) Castle.

Amanda was a 2002 graduate of Milan High School. As a young girl she enjoyed taking family vacations, and had great memories of when they went to Disney World, many times. Amanda always enjoyed anything related to Disney, she wanted to be a cartoon illustrator when she grew up. Amanda’s other passion was in her tattoos, where you can see her love for animation, her Gemini pride, and her absolute love for older nephew, Mason, with a Donate Life tattoo also shared by her sisters Heidi and Amber. Amanda loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews whom she had nicknamed every one of them. She also had a special love her cats Jasper and Midnight.

Amanda is survived by her long time partner Robert Bickerstaff, her parents, Mike and Chris of Milan, two sisters: Heidi Castle (Harvey Justice), and Amber (Mike) Straits; one niece: Chloe, along with one on the way: Charlee; three nephews: Mason, Chase, and Clint; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Irene Castle, and maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Marie Layton.

Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Service on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, and on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 10:00am - 11:00am where an open mic funeral service will begin at 11:00am.
