Age 42, died May 24, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family, under the care of St. Joseph Mercy Hospice. He was born on April 18, 1980 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Millard Franklin and Debra Sue (Hall) Waugh. On September 9, 2006, he married Jennifer Ellis in Ypsilanti, and she survives.
Jason graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1998, and worked for many years at the Home Depot in Southfield, Michigan. He enjoyed cooking, table top games, video games and movies. He loved spending time outdoors, where he would go fishing, boating, and camping. He especially loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Jennifer, and son Jacen “Xander” Waugh. He is also survived by his father, Millard of Florida, his mother and stepfather Debra and Arnold Roberts of Booneville, Kentucky, his maternal grandmother, Linda Hall of Booneville, Kentucky, father and mother-in-law Mark and Elayne Ellis and sister-in-law Jessica (Mike) Miller of Milan, Michigan. He is survived by 3 siblings, Matthew (Christina) Waugh of Manchester, Michigan, Billy (Cade) Waugh of Belleville, Michigan and Saundra (Kris) Bowman of Booneville, Kentucky, and 6 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home, Milan on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Private services will follow. Burial will be at Marble Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to In Lieu of Flowers.
