Anthony "Tony" La Nasa Jr., age 67, of New Orleans, LA, passed away on September 22, 2023, in Hammond, LA. He was born on January 30, 1956, in New Orleans, LA. Tony was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and sibling.

Tony is survived by his wife, Vanessa Martin, his children, Kelly Streckfus (Robert), Letitia Walker (Adam), Anthony La Nasa III (Shannon), Angelique O'Neal (Ryan), and his step-children, Mandy L Bianchini (Al) and Rachel L Oakman (Andrew). He was a cherished grandfather to Kaitlyn Fundling, Brody Walker, Madison Fundling, Cole Walker, Lucy La Nasa, Clara La Nasa, and Anthony La Nasa IV. Tony is also survived by his siblings: Marianna Baiamonte (Frank), Antonia Travis (Butch), Frank La Nasa (Angela), Georgiana La Nasa, and Christina Chambers (Mark), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Antonia Lydia Acereto La Nasa, his father, Anthony La Nasa Sr., his niece Stephanie Angelle Broom, and his best friend Eddie Fortier.

Tony was a fun-loving teddy bear to everyone that knew him, although he did have a grumpy and gruff exterior. He truly loved with all of his heart. Tony was a man of many words and never hesitated to share his opinion, whether you wanted to hear it or not.

In his career, Tony served the community as an NOPD officer for 20 years, specializing in K-9 work. He dedicated his life to protecting and serving others.

Outside of work, Tony enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle all over the country. He had a passion for sports, particularly LSU & Saints football as well as the Pelicans. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and spending time with friends and family while enjoying a good beer.

A Celebration of Life party in honor of Tony will be held at a later date.
