The family will use these to honor Delta Templet Chaneys life and memory. Please continue to keep the family in your thoughts throughout this challenging time.

Delta Templet Chaney, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her beloved family, on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the age of 80. Maw “D” as she was affectionally known, was a native of Pierre Part, Louisiana and a resident of Darrow, LA. She worked as a secretary for many years, but her proudest accomplishment was raising her four children. She cherished her family above all else and lived a happy and fulfilling life. Delta never met a stranger and was loved by all who met her because of her unbridled optimism and her feisty fun nature. She had a lifelong love of gameplaying, and her competitive nature made it all the more fun. She loved playing with her children, grandchildren, sisters and friends, especially Rummy Royal, Chicken Foot, and Rummikub. Her most recent love was building LEGO’s. Delta loved nature and gardening. It brought her much joy to see her plants grow and bloom and produce fruits and veggies. She loved to cook and bake, especially canning and making jelly with the spoils from her garden. She was generous in nature and was happy to share her jelly and can goods. She loved to travel or to just “ride”. Whether it was a vacation, or just a cruise around town, she loved to see what was going on in the world. Her faith in God was unwavering, and she always knew he would “work it out” no matter what came her way. She is survived by her four children, Andrea St. Germain, Jason Johnson (Dinah), Angella Lawrence (Keith), and Christina Johnson, grandchildren, Shelby (Cole), Chase, Emily, Blair (Rachel), Chaille (Yancy), Kalab (Tera), Christian, Raven, Nicole, Noah, and Wyatt, and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 15, from 2-4 at the home of Jason Johnson at 106 St. John St, Pierre Part, LA 70339. In lieu of flowers, and because of Delta’s support of St. Jude, please send any donations there via the link below.
