Ernest Vincent “Joe” Capello III, 76, a native and resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 in Gonzales after a short battle with Cancer. Ernest was a retired Carpenter and enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his three children, Ernest Capello IV and wife, Lacey, Benjamin Capello and wife, Kimberly and Jacy Capello; seven grandchildren, Gage Capello, Frankie Santone, Brayden Catoire, Trayten Dupre, Benjamin Capello, Justice Capello, and James Capello; three sisters, Carolyn Schlatre, Geraldine Theriot and husband, Burton, and Catherine Oubre and husband, David; one brother, Henry Capello; two sisters-in-law Clara Capello and Barbera Capello; one brother-in-law E.J. Callehan; his dog Jack and grand dog Jersey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Heloise Capello; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Capello, Heloise Medine, and Ernestine Callehan; six brothers, Floyd Wilson, Lloyd Capello Sr., Gerald Capello, Harold Capello, Donald Capello, and Raymond Capello; one brother-in-law Burton Medine; three sisters-in-law Mary Rose Capello, Jackie Capello, and Vicki Capello; and his dog Cash.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin Capello, Randy Capello, Donald Capello, David Oubre Jr., Gage Capello, Brayen Catoire, Trayten Dupre, and Samuel Rivero.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14th, 2023 with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church located at 818 W. 10th Street, Donaldsonville, Louisiana. A memorial mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Father Matt Dupre. Burial will follow in the St. Francis of Assisi cemetery.
