Evelyn Rotzell Luscombe, age 98, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 after a short illness. She was the wife of James Edward Luscombe, who died in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Chester “Jack” and Rheba Heller Rotzell.
A native of Bangor, Pennsylvania, and former resident of Pendleton, South Carolina, she was a life-long member of the First United Evangelical Congregational Church, Bangor, where she was a member of the JOY Class and of the Ladies’ Aid Society, the church’s quilting group. While residing in Pendleton she regularly attended the Pendleton United Methodist Church.
Evelyn was featured in Homefront magazine as a Fairest of the Month, and prior to her marriage, enjoyed a brief career as an executive assistant and laboratory technician at Blue Ridge-Winkler Textiles, Inc. She is survived by two sons, Edward, and Graig, both of Baton Rouge, cousins, and many friends.
Services will be private, and held at the convenience of the family, St. John’s Cemetery in Bangor.
