Glenn Louis Brouillette, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on Independence Day, July 4, 1944, in Marksville, LA, and spent his childhood on his family farm. During Glenn’s high school years, he moved to Baton Rouge, LA, which was difficult for him because he left behind close friends in Marksville. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High, Class of 1962, after which he completed specialized training in air conditioning at Baton Rouge Trade School and began working in the Facility Services department at Louisiana State University. Glenn met his wife Barbara when she moved to Baton Rouge to live with family while attending LSU. They married in 1966 in Morgan City, LA. He later worked for Albemarle Corporation, formerly Ethyl Corporation, in Plant Maintenance from October 1965 until his retirement in 2004 after 38 years of service. Glenn was a kind and gentle man and a loyal friend with a clever sense of humor. He was a connoisseur of cars spending many weekends restoring his 1967 Pontiac GTO and later his 1977 Chevy Blazer. He loved watching John Wayne movies and taking care of his feral cats, making sure they were well fed. Last spring, he adopted a kitten rescued by his granddaughter that brought him much enjoyment. Glenn was an avid duck hunter and a member of Louisiana Ducks Unlimited and looked forward to hunting with family and friends every duck season. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors. A devoted husband and father, he always put his family’s needs before his own.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Cortez Brouillette, a beloved daughter Nicole Brouillette Rozas (Troy) of Baton Rouge, and granddaughter Abby Lauren Rozas of Baton Rouge, a sister Leona Brouillette Many (Tim) of Baton Rouge and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends. Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Louis John Brouillette, his mother, Eunice Normand Brouillette, and a sister, Joyce Brouillette Roy.
Family and friends are invited to honor his life at a visitation on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 10:30am – 12:00pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm at St. George Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Baton Rouge or your favorite charity. The Brouillette family would like to thank those you cared for Glenn, especially the medical staff at Baton Rouge Specialty Hospital and St. Joseph Hospice. Church Funeral Services will oversee the arrangements.
