OBITUARY
I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH. FINALLY, THERE IS LAID UP FOR ME THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, WHICH THE LORD, THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE WILL GIVE TO ME……2 Timothy 4:6-8

In Lieu of flowers, gifts of love are requested by the family of Mr. Godfrey Alfred Williams, Sr. these gifts will be used by the family to defer costs. The family greatly appreciates any gifts they are received.

Godfrey Alfred Williams Sr. was born on August 23, 1958, to the union of Gloria Campbell and Ernest Williams Sr. in New Orleans, La
Godfrey was educated in the New Orleans school system. He was joined in matrimony to Brenda Joiner from this union three children were born.
Godfrey worked for Chalmette Slip Terminal for 30 years, Scallan’s Brother and Triple H terminal in Chalmette.
On Monday, February 25, 2019, the Lord sent his angles to bring him home to be with him. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sibling and one niece and one grandson Godric.
Godfrey leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Brenda Williams, sons Godwin (Tomieka), Godfrey Jr. and daughter Heather. 3 brothers Cleveland (Mary), Ernest Jr, Troy and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Dad,

This was a piece of very shocking news for everyone known you left this earth so soon in a short period of time. You were a fighter and you were hanging in there for as long as you could, sadly God had another plan for you. He sent his angels to bring you home with him, so you wouldn't have to worry about those pain anymore. You know how to make people laugh. We are going to miss your smiles but your memories will always be with us. I love you, daddy.

Ever since you passed, I have been going through a whirlwind of emotions. But somehow, someway, every day that passes on-I feel more better by the day, because I know he is at peace! I know that I will shed my tears as he will be laid to rest, but I also know that my father is looking up from heaven above, with his parents and sister Faye joining alongside him, that he is finally living in happiness in his new chapter in life. All I have to do is look up to the sky, and say hey, and he is showing off that 50-watt smile with the scruffy goatee he loves to sport.
