Grant Benson Williams a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and most importantly a street evangelist went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 20, 2023, at 4:20 pm.
Grant Benson Williams lived a beautiful life. Grant was born on April 9, 1968, to loving parents, Rex, and Mary Williams. He attended St. Amant Elementary School, and then St. Amant High School (class of 1986). He was a diligent and industrious man, dedicated to his family, everything he did was for them.
Grant’s true calling on earth was to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. He had nine years of Bible Theology College and obtained a diploma from The Way of the Master – School of Biblical Evangelism and a diploma from the School of the Word Bible College. In 2010 Pastor Steve Chadwick ordained him as Minister.
He was a magnetic force, people gravitated toward him, and he accepted and loved them all. He was compassionate, loving, caring, attentive, and hilarious. If you were around Grant, you were guaranteed to laugh because he had a remarkable story for you.
Grant is preceded in death by his parents, Rex, and Mary Williams, and two brothers Ted and LaRue Williams. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lynn Williams; daughter, Megan, stepdaughter Brittany, stepdaughter Hailey, bonus daughter, Amanda Vidos, stepson, Dwain Vicknair Jr. and his grandchild Max, his siblings, Amanda, Andy, and sister-in-law Charlotte, and nephews Sal, Branton, Ethan, Tristan, and Tony Thibodeaux, nieces, Shantel Sronce, great niece Eliana, nieces Brandy, Ashley, and Rene, and many other great nieces and nephews. I loved Grant. We both loved to watch movies. He loved the star war movies as much as I did. We always tried to see the new ones together when him and Lynn lived in Gonzales . He loved the lord and my sister and that meant the world to me . Now he’s with his heavenly family rejoicing and praising the lord.

We all were in a play together. After the play was over him and Daniel put together some tracks to give out on Halloween around the square. Every time we talked to him after that he never failed to mention Jesus. He loved his Lord and was so eager to tell others about Him. Grant wax a great guy and will be missed.

From the moment I set my eyes on Grant and Lynn, I fell in love with these two people! They met me at a time when I was so broken. They gave me hope for the first time in a very long time. They took me in and loved me as their very own daughter. They taught me about me Jesus! We have had so many laughs and great times together, binge watching the Mandelorian together, worshipping the Lord together was my favorite above all! I love you daddy Grant and momma Lynn, yall will never know just how deeply! Until I meet you in the sky again daddy Grant, please never leave my side! I love you!

I first met Grant at Piccadilly when the restaurant served all you can eat breakfast. He and Lynn were there and we ate with them. I knew right a way that he was a man of God. He and Lynn complemented each other in the Lord. Remember Lynn “Weeping may endure for a night, BUT joy cometh in the morning.”

All of our trips to Monroe for my doctor appointments are fond memories. We always had long Bible discussions. Me asking questions and him giving me answers. There can never be another Grant he was truly one of a kind. Gone to the Lord now but living in the hearts of many that are still here on earth

I’ve known Grant since he was a kid hanging out with my son. He was a character but I loved him and stayed in touch with him all these years. I’m so proud of the man he became. Through his life and work, many souls have come to the saving knowledge of the Lord. I know when he was face to face with Jesus, he heard “well done, my good and faithful servant”. Love you Grant and will see you soon. I’m so sorry for your loss Lynn. May the Lord give you comfort.

I think Grant was the closest cousin to my age on the Williams side at family reunions on the last Sunday in July growing up. He was always so happy to see me and that made me so happy to see him! ♥️ As he got older, I thought his idea to witness using a funeral hertz was a unique idea…I even think we donated to the ministry a time or two in its early stages.

We will never ever forget Brother Grant. He and his beautiful wife Lynn became fast friends of ours when we first met them at Trinity A/G Church in Bastrop. We will never forget him meeting us out front after service and saying these words to us “the Shakinah glory of God is on y’all. I can see it and feel it!” He did not know at that time the fire we were going through and that his statement ministered such calming peace that we do desperately needed in that moment. We will forever be thankful for his obedience in speaking what God told him to speak over us. We love Brother Grant and we love you Sister Lynn. .

Grant was the most stubborn man Iknow. He was determined to give everyone a chance to know Jesus and His love the way he knew it and he did that every day. His love for his family and compassion for their hsrd times was most unselfish! He was fascinated and driven to seek the Face of God and delighted with new ways to understand scripture. My heart is concentrating on his joy at the knowledge he is gaining and the mysteries he us discovering. He did everything big.!! His mind must be exploding with joy and knowledge.. We’ll see you again Brother-in-law. Love you!!💛🔥🕊

Grant had a major impact on my family. My dad and mom loved Grant and when he started to follow his calling my mother told him I always knew God was gonna use you. Each of my siblings were impacted by the joy he brought with the fullbest of God's mercy. My fondest memory was how he would always tell me how God wants to use me and urgent it was for me to be saved and get on the battlefield to win more souls over . I'll never forget how much love he had had for me and my siblings and I definitely would not be saved if Grant Williams and my mother would of gave up telling me about the love of Jesus. He was a brother and he will be missed.

Grant was always willing to be my taste tester on anything I cooked. I really enjoyed coming over to spend days with Lynn and Grant when they lived in Gonzales. I loved cooking meals for Grant because he always showed so much for them and me. After dinner we’d watch a movie and you’d sing the bunny song- We are Bunnies, we are bunnies, we are bunnies living in a material world. WE ARE BUNNIES! Can you believe a big strong guy like Grant singing about bunnies. I loved to hear you sing in the house and it didn’t Matt what song you were singing, you sung your heart out. I knew a lot of things about you Grant, but the most important thing I knew about you was that you loved the lord with all your heart. I know you’re singing for Jesus right now! May you rest in peace from your G Cuz.
