A ceremony celebrating the life of Henry S. Martin will be held on Thursday at Christ Community Church, with visitation beginning at 10 am until time of the service at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, Walker.

Henry was born on June 1, 1946, in Walker and passed away on May 5, 2024, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center suddenly at the age of 77 years.

He was a resident of Walker, a member of Grangeville Church, and Local 406.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and enjoyed working on tractors or any type of equipment. His greatest passion was loving his children.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ben Magee and Nancy Lockhart Martin, a son George Martin, brothers Ben M. Martin Jr., and James Hayman.

Survivors include his daughters Lisa Wilson (Don), Cheryl Bennett, and Brandie Lewis (Ryan), siblings Jewel Gilchrist, Claudia Brooks, Fannie Williams, John R., Rex. Jame T. “Judge”, Lattie Martin, and Rocky Hayman, bonus son Adam Housley, mother of his children Sharon Martin, also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, host of nieces and nephews.
