Herman “Rusty” Wall, 82, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on 12/05/2024.
Born on November 11, 1942, Rusty spent most of his life in Mississippi before residing in Walker, LA, for the past two years. A man of great character and service, Rusty proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. National Guard for six years. He built a successful 32-year career with AT&T, retiring to dedicate his time to what he loved most: family and craftsmanship.
In his retirement, Rusty’s hands were never idle. He spent countless hours building and remodeling homes for his children and working in his shop creating cherished furniture pieces for his family. Rusty was also a dedicated Ole Miss football fan, always cheering on his Rebels.
Rusty is survived by his devoted wife of almost 53 years, Paula Howell Wall, and their four children: Todd Wall (Lynette), Gloria Wall McClelland (Scott), Tim Wall (Kathy), and Bud Wall (Angie). He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter through his ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Ray, Ronny, Randy, Debra, and Eve.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Herman Wall, and his sister, Sherry Smith.
A visitation and funeral service will be held Thursday, December 12 at Walker Community Ministries at Wholly Grounds, 27988 Walker South Road, Walker, LA, with burial to follow at Gateway Gardens Memorial Cemetery in Livingston, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00- 11:00 am with the service beginning at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rusty’s honor to Tunnel to Towers, a charity that reflects his values of service and generosity.
Rusty will be remembered as a man of faith, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to his family. His memory will live in the homes he built, the furniture he crafted, and the hearts of those he touched.

While I've never met Rusty, I adore his daughter Gloria and Scott McClelland (my nephew). They are dear friends and I know they will miss him.
