James Anthony Marino (“Big Jim”) was born on April 19, 1954, in Mineola, NY to Gerard and Jean Marino. At the age of 20, he met the love of his life, Pat Marino, and they were devoted to each other for over 50 years. Jim worked as a plant operator at Motiva for over 35 years before retiring 10 years ago to focus on his passions. He had a deep love for sports, boiling seafood, LSU baseball, enjoying a cold drink, and Swamp Pop music. Above all, he cherished his family.
Jim was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerard. He leaves behind his loving wife, Pat, and his children: Tommy and Nicole Marino, April and Trevor Schexnayder, and Katie and Tre’ Liotto. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cade, Colton, Emma, Bryce, Jaydn, Layne, and Anthony, as well as his mother, Jean Marino, and siblings: Scott, Patricia, and Donald. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family is especially grateful to the host of friends who loved Jimmy.
In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
