In lieu of flowers, the family of Jason Paul Sloan's asks that you consider a donation to defray the cost of funeral expenses. Contributions of any amount are appreciated. Please continue keeping Jason Paul Sloan's family in your thoughts throughout this challenging time.
Jason Paul Sloan was born on December 30, 1982 and passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2023 in Baton Rouge, La at the age of 40. Jason was from Baton Rouge & he attended Istrouma High School. After leaving Istrouma High, he worked on a tugboat on the Mississippi River for a while before settling into his trade, which he had so much passion for, floor installation. Jason was one of four siblings. He was blessed with a kind and caring heart, wit, and the ability to have deep conversations with people from all walks of life. Jason was a "make it happen" kind of guy and to know him was to love him. He loved to fish and passed his love & skill for fishing down to his sons. Though our hearts are heavy and mourn our loss, we choose to celebrate Jason's freedom in the arms of a loving & compassionate God.
Jason was preceded in death by paternal & maternal grandparents, his father Danny Sloan, his mother Carolyn Sloan, & his brother Shane Sloan. Jason is survived by his 2 sons Bryce Coleman Sloan & Blaine Patrick Sloan, brother Bryan Maggio, sister Tammy Cannon, Aunts: Nancy David (Dewayne), Brenda Sheridon, Debbie Abousweid, & Kay Cowart, and numerous cousins.
Although Jason's oldest son, Bryce, had been estranged from his father for numerous years for Jason's past choices, he would like to have the opportunity to have a piece of his father forever. We are asking in lieu of flowers, please help by donating to Church Funeral Services to help fund his cremation.
