oshua Albert Cody of Watson, Louisiana went into the arms of his Savior on November 2, 2024.

His passing was sudden and due to an underlying heart condition. Joshua was born on August 14, 1984 to Lidia and Albert Cody in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was an outstanding husband, father, brother, uncle, son and friend. In 2005, Josh met the love of his life, Mary, whom he married on April 27, 2012, and had four beautiful children: Iris (12), Gabriel (10), Asher (5), and Ezra (1).

Josh excelled at everything he put his hands to, constantly looking for new ways to apply his many gifts. From being born into poverty in New Orleans as one of 11 siblings, in and out of foster care, he overcame impossible odds to give his family everything they could ever hope for in this life. His motivation stemmed from his recognition that anything can be obtained by hard work and perseverance. He took pride in his work and was recently promoted to Board Operator at Shell in Geismar, Joshua was also a part of the Shell ERT unit and fire rescue team.

A true jack of all trades, Josh had a laser-beam mindset and was determined to accomplish anything he set his mind to. He was naturally competitive and strived for excellence in every area of his life. While Josh certainly had many notable accomplishments deserving of recognition, Josh’s greatest joy came from his faith in Christ, his wife Mary, and the life they had built together over the past twenty years. He was also recently baptized and confirmed to the catholic faith at the Immaculate Conception Church of Denham Springs.

Josh always loved nature and physical fitness, whether it was mountain bike-riding and camping or simply going for a run and playing basketball. He thoroughly enjoyed playing guitar with his children, gaming, or making them “Daddy’s World Famous Breakfast.” He also enjoyed reading, camping, and sharing playful bedtime stories with his kids.

Joshua is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Cody, and brother Michael Cody.
