Lyle "Lollipop" Morgan Sr. passed away on September 20, 2024, at age 61. He was a beloved father to his son, Lyle “Dave” Morgan Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Mallory Morgan. His three granddaughters, Elle, Jules, and Charli Morgan, meant the world to him. Lollipop was also a loving brother to Greg and Eddie Morgan. He was born in Baton Rouge on December 28, 1962, and spent his early years in St. Amant. He will be remembered for his quick wit, love for storytelling, willingness to help anyone in need and his favorite quote, “It is what it
is.”
Lollipop was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory “Bubba” Morgan and Arlette DeArmond Morgan, and brothers Leo “Kim” and Keith Morgan.
He is survived by his favorite aunts, Pookum Morgan Lazarus, Corrine DeArmond Nickens, and Rose Braud, all from Ascension Parish, and a son, Justin Simoneaux, and Justin’s daughter, Claire.
The family will have a brief sunrise burial on October 14, 2024, at 7:00 am at the Holy Rosary Church cemetery. Since he was a huge LSU fan, for those who attend his service, we ask you to wear your favorite LSU outfit. No flowers, please.
Donations can be made to LSU’s TAF in his name. When thinking of Lollipop, we hope you smile - he’s in a better place.
