She lived, she loved, she laughed, she cried. She faithfully served God, her family, her friends, and many other people.
Madeline "Mattie" Brouillette Bienvenu, 78, a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend died peacefully at home surrounded by people who love her. She left behind years of pain and suffering and began her eternal life of joy and happiness on September 28, 2024.
She was born in Marksville, LA and came to Baton Rouge in 1963 to attend and graduate from the original Our Lady Of The Lake Nursing School. That desire to help others was an integral part of both her family life and her nursing career, which included Home Health and her most satisfying work as a Hospice nurse.
She enjoyed many years of reading and Cajun dancing but her greatest love was her family. She treasured all of the family gatherings over the years and is happily participating in a different type of family reunion now.
She was preceded in death by her son Todd, her father Farrell Brouillette, her mother and stepfather Helen and John Simoneaux, and her grandparents, Verdie and Jules Bordelon. She is survived by her husband of 57 years (goes to 58 on March 4th) Bo Bienvenu, her son Mark, her two granddaughters Frankie Gordon Finley (Jared) and Emily Bienvenu, her great granddaughter Rowan Bienvenu. and her brother Kirk Simoneaux (Laura).
