Patricia “Patty” Jane Harrison, beloved wife and mother of five children, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, surrounded by family in Baton Rouge, LA.
Patricia, the oldest of five siblings, grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and lived there for all of her childhood years with her parents, Lizetta and Thomas Pattison, and siblings, Mike, Beth, Terry, and Judy. Patricia attended Warren Easton High School and Hotel Dieu School of Nursing, where she obtained her registered nursing degree.
Soon after finishing nursing school in 1960, Patricia married John Harrison at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in New Orleans, LA. They initially lived in New Orleans, then Abilene, Texas, and Puerto Rico while John served in the U.S. Airforce as a dentist. During this time, Patricia gave birth to her two sons, James and Charles, and her daughter, Maureen. They eventually moved to Houma, Louisiana where she had two daughters, Amy and Marian. Patricia was a devoted and loving wife to her husband John and mother to her children. She also served as a dedicated nurse, caring for others at Terrebonne Medical Center, in home health, and at mental health rehabilitation hospitals.
Patricia truly enjoyed vacationing at the beach with her family and taking her children and their friends on a beach trip whenever the opportunity arose. Patricia was a devote Catholic and was active in the family’s church parish, St. Anthony of Padua in Houma, LA. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards weekly with her bridge club friends, and traveling. One of her greatest adventures was her trip to Ireland, where she explored her family’s Irish Heritage.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, John, her father, Thomas, mother, Lizetta, and brother, Mike. She is survived by her sisters, Beth and Judy, and brother, Terry, her five children, James, Charles, Maureen, Amy, and Marian, and eight grandchildren, Colin, Jackson, Emma, Quinn, Aidan, Jeremy, Hagan, and Rachael, as well as, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends will celebrate Patricia’s life with a memorial mass at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, on Friday, March 28, 2025, with visitation at 10:30 A.M. and the mass at 11:00 A.M.
