It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Rose Thibodaux on January 18th, 2025. She passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 22nd, 1949, in New Orleans, LA.

Shirley is survived by her loving sister: Cathy (Randy) DeMarcey, cherished children; Elizabeth Vidrine, Elisa (Brian) V Ward, and Elrick Wayne Vidrine II. Her joy multiplied with the gift of nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Scott (Jessica) Taylor, Christopher Smith, Karen (Levon) Taylor, Victoria (Brad) Vidrine, John (Marleigh) Vidrine, Elrick W Vidrine III, Trent Ward, Hunter Vidrine, Beaux Bearden, John W Vidrine Jr & an abundance of nieces and nephews, oh boy, what a big & loving family she had. She was Preceded in death by grandparents: James (Adonia) Seymour, George (Rosie) Burdwell. Her parents: Chester (Christine) Seymour, her siblings: Jewel (Jack) Verdin, Danny (Angela) Seymour Sr, and David Seymour Sr. Her granddaughter & great granddaughter: Faith Isabella Vidrine & Luna Faith Flores.
Shirley was known for being very passionate about her family & friends and talking about childhood memories. She loved going down to the Senior Citizen Center to play bingo and doing crafts, having dances & spending time with friends. She always had to watch a couple of Golden Girl episodes throughout the day. Her personality was very spunky, she would always do or say what she wanted, she didn’t want people telling her what she could or couldn’t do. She was a strong-minded, faithful, honorable and devoted Christian woman. She touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her warm hugs, her helpful talks, her giving heart, and her smile that would light up the room.
(Thank you for being my friend)
