Our beloved brother, Stephen Paul “Steve” Vidrine, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024 with his rosary held tightly in his hand. Stephen was born July 17, 1946 in Ville Platte, LA and enjoyed a joyous life for 78 meaningful years.

Steve graduated from USL with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education. He received his Master Degree in Secondary Education at LSU. He retired from Louisiana Department of Education as an Educational Specialist and received many teaching certifications. His true passion in life was to teach, inspire, and improve the lives of those with disabilities and the underprivileged. He yearned to provide hope to all in need. Following his retirement, he went to hold numerous jobs throughout the state that allowed him to continue his life’s endeavor to contribute to his community in an amazing and unselfish manner until the time of his passing.

Steve loved cooking, gardening, entertaining, and giving. He will always be remembered for the parties and family gatherings which he longed to plan and cook for - he was a wonderful host.

Steve was a loving, caring, brother and an amazing uncle to his numerous nieces, nephews, and their children. Family, friends, and co-workers were very important to Steve and his loss will be felt by so many. His family would like to thank all of his friends who reached out to him over the last few weeks. Your visits, phone calls, and messages were deeply appreciated.

He leaves behind his brother, Don Vidrine & his wife Paula, of Helena, MT and his three sisters, Joana Borges & her husband Louis, of Lafayette, Linda Funchess & her husband Mac, of Folsom, Anita Parker & her husband David, of Baton Rouge, and Osman George, who was like a brother to Steve. He is preceded in death by his parents Eloi & Lela Vidrine of Morrow, LA.

Steve’s cremains will be laid to rest with his parents at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Morrow. In lieu of a funeral service, it was Steve’s wish for his friends and family to join together for a Celebration of Life which will be announced at a later date.
