The heavenly choir gained a new accompanist when Toliver Bozeman III passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 22, 2024. Born October 5, 1944, in Greenville, Texas, Toliver was a charter member of Jefferson Baptist Church, where he served in many leadership roles, most notably as pianist for nearly 60 years. His desire every time he played was to be a channel of blessing to everyone. Toliver was a graduate of Baton Rouge High School and attended LSU. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves before following in the footsteps of his father as a corporate pilot. His volunteer positions at Jefferson Baptist over the years included serving as a deacon, Sunday School director, Church Training director, and director of the Young at Heart senior ministry. He even found a way to combine his passions when he gave plane rides to children during Vacation Bible School. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Nettleton Bozeman; children Toliver Bozeman IV and wife Kelli of Baton Rouge and Amy Bozeman St John and husband Matt of Missouri City, Texas; grandchildren Sadie Bozeman and Emily St John; and two great-grandchildren; as well as niece Kelly Bozeman Scott and nephew Lee Bozeman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Toliver Bozeman Jr. and Bea Bennett Bozeman, and brother Terry Lee Bozeman Sr. Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Jefferson Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faith Forward Fund at Jefferson Baptist Church, 9135 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.
